Background to the Learning Interventions Offered.

The learning interventions made available on the CPBN platform have been selected because of the work we do for our clients in the area of organisational transformation and organisational strengthening employing the 7S approach. The McKinsey 7-S model posits that to effect sustainable organisational transformation, changes must be effected to all significant dimensions of an organisation as shown below. .

Even if your organisation has reached a consensus on its overall goal (shareholder/stakeholder value or citizen satisfaction) and has agreed on the strategies and the pathways to achieving those goals; your organisation must then put in place the Structures, Systems and the Skillsets that will be the “enablers for reaching your destination. However, staff (the energy source) and its Style, the way things are done (the source of motivation) will be the “energisers” that propel the organisation to its goal..

The McKinsey 7S Model:

Any organization can be looked at through the lens of the 7S model, and the interconnectedness of the 7S elements makes their alignment even more critical for the success of your organization. That interconnectedness means, for example, that a change in strategy will invariably require changes in some or all of the other 7S elements.

The bottom line for us is that even when all the other transformation drivers have been addressed, it will be the capability of the staff that will determine the success or failure of the transformation effort and even more specifically it will be the intrinsic competencies that staff possess and have developed experientially, that will allow them to apply any functional skills acquired to solving your organisation’s problems..

Our learning interventions can, therefore, be grouped into two (2) broad categories:

Competency development learning interventions; and
Learning interventions aimed at the development of functional skills.
